Who we are
The Sleeve (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website at thesleevegolf.com, a free tool that recommends golf balls based on information you provide about your game. The Sleeve is currently operated by an individual. If you have questions about this policy or your data, you can reach us at privacy@thesleevegolf.com.
Information we collect
We collect only what we need to provide and improve the fitting service:
- ·Fitting information. The answers and metrics you enter into our fitting flows (such as swing speed, typical miss, spin figures, priorities, and your current ball, if you choose to share it), along with the recommendations we generate for you.
- ·Account information. If you choose to sign in, we collect your email address to send you a secure sign-in link and to associate your saved fittings with your account. We do not ask for or store passwords.
- ·Launch monitor screenshots. If you upload a screenshot from a launch monitor, we store that image and the metrics our system reads from it so we can produce and, where applicable, re-create your fitting.
- ·Usage and device information. When you use the site we may collect standard technical information such as your browser type, general location, the pages you visit, and the links you click, including clicks on outbound ball-purchase links. This helps us understand what is useful and improve the product.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies:
- ·Essential cookies. We set a session identifier so that, before you create an account, your fittings can be saved and later attached to your account if you sign up. This is necessary for the service to work.
- ·Analytics and performance. We use, or intend to use, analytics tools to understand how visitors find and use the site (for example, which pages are visited and how people arrive). These tools may set cookies or use similar identifiers. We use this information in aggregate to improve the product and our marketing. Where required by law, we will ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies.
How we use your information
- ·To generate and display your golf ball recommendations.
- ·To save your fittings and, if you create an account, make them available to you.
- ·To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the site and our recommendation engine.
- ·To understand which recommendations and links are useful, including measuring clicks on affiliate links.
- ·To communicate with you about your fittings or account, if you have given us your email.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these limited ways:
- ·Service providers. We use trusted third parties to run the service, including our hosting and database provider and the provider that helps read metrics from uploaded screenshots. They process information on our behalf and under our instructions.
- ·Affiliate partners. When you click a link to buy a ball, you are taken to a third-party retailer or manufacturer. We may earn a commission on qualifying purchases. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.
- ·Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
Data retention
We keep your fitting information, screenshots, and account data for as long as needed to provide the service and for legitimate business purposes such as analytics and product improvement. You can ask us to delete your data at any time using the contact details below.
Your choices and rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing us at privacy@thesleevegolf.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA, including the right to object to or restrict certain processing. You can also use your browser settings to refuse non-essential cookies.
Children's privacy
The Sleeve is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will be communicated where appropriate.
